Gertrud Weinmeister



Gertrud Weinmeister was born in Salzburg and studied at the Mozarteum Salzburg, the Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna and completed post-graduate studies with Shmuel Ashkenasi at Northern Illinois University.

Her appearences as soloist include concerts with the Mozarteum-Orchester Salzburg, the Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland Pfalz and the Bielefelder Philharmoniker.
She is solo violist with  Nikolaus Harnoncourt´s  Concentus Musicus Wien and permanent guest with Chamber-Orchestra of Europe.

Her activities as a chamber musician include performances at festivals such as Wien Modern, Schleswig-Holstein Musikfestival, Musiktage Mondsee and Ravinia-Festival USA.

As violist of the Trio Weinmeister she has concertised  at the Alte Oper Frankfurt, Philharmonie Köln,  Musikhalle Hamburg, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Birmingham Symphony Hall and in the concert halls of Stockholm, Vienna, Brussels and  Athens   as well as at the  International Beethoven Festival in Bonn.

Gertrud Weinmeister teaches at the  Konservatorium-Wien-Privatuniversität.
